Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.

The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. Typical hours are 10 am–9 pm. Note that it does not open on Thursday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach DimSumKing express at (346) 867-2865; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.

Houston is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Traffic in Houston peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Great self serve place. With delicious dim sum and the staff ladies are very nice and helpful. Free tea & water with plenty of napkins. Clean bathrooms too for a Chinatown shop.

Got the crab king siu mai (unfortunately was mixed meat and not all crab), fried bean curd roll with shrimp (good but too oily for me), steamed shrimp dumpling (good), sticky rice with meat in lotus leaf (good), broccoli with oyster sauce (good), flat noodles (needed salt), and the beef brisket noodle soup (broth was good). A lot of solid dishes

Wow…. 8 golf ball size (generous) dumplings for 14 dollars…. This isn’t even enough for a child. Do not recommend for your moneys worth. This was in the β€œlarge” section of the menu. Shrimp steamed dumplings has shrimp shells in it.

The food at this dim sum restaurant was genuinely good; well-seasoned and authentic dishes. However, the overall experience was significantly impacted by the long wait time for the food, which was much longer than reasonable; short on staff I am assuming. The most concerning issue was finding a small piece of metal in the wonton soup. I was luckily eating it slowly and bit onto a piece of metal. While the cuisine itself has strong potential, the long wait for food and the piece of metal found in the wonton detracted from what could have been a five star rating. Hair, plastic, would've made some sense, but an abnormally large sharp sized piece of metal genuinely could've hurt a child or elder - choking, tear, or even worse medical emergency.

I came to Dim Sum King Express for a small gathering. We ordered just about everything on the menu, which was smaller than the original Dim Sum King. The service style is a fast food restaurant, just order from the counter and food is brought to the tables. I like the dim sum at Dim Sum King. The food is always made fresh and service is always good. I have been back for noodle soup. Just have to wait for an open seat.
